Congming Gao

I am currently an Associate Professor at the School of Informatics, Xiamen University. Previously, I served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University (Advisor: Prof. Jiwu Shu). I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the College of Computer Science, Chongqing University (Advisor: Prof. Liang Shi). My research background also includes positions as a Research Assistant at the City University of Hong Kong (Advisor: Prof. Chun Jason Xue) and as a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh (Advisor: Prof. Jun Yang and Prof. Youtao Zhang).

I do research in storage system, mainly focusing on Flash Memory, Memory Management and File System. My research results are published in top-tier international conferences, such as MICRO, ISCA, ASPLOS, HPCA, FAST, ICDE, DAC. My academic excellence has been honored with several awards, including Tenth Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program by CAST, ACM SIGCSE China Rising Star Award (2024), Xiaomi Young Talents Program, IEEE NVMSA Best Paper Award (2024/2025), and Alibaba Cloud-CCF Storage Committee Outstanding Paper Award (2019/2020).
